Our Mission
Developmental Enrichment Centers endeavors to reflect God’s love for people with disabilities and their families through service, by providing a community to nurture the spiritual, emotional, and physical growth of all those we serve.
About Us
Developmental Enrichment Centers (DEC) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Arizona. We are licensed and contracted with the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DES/DDD), allowing us to provide quality programs and services that help individuals live fuller, more independent lives.
Our team brings more than 50 years of combined experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities, including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and Cognitive Delay. Just as important as our experience is the way we care for the people we serve. We believe every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, patience, and respect, and we work every day to create an environment where they feel valued, encouraged, and supported.
As a faith-based organization, our mission is centered on serving others with compassion while helping each person reach their fullest potential. We understand that every individual has unique abilities, goals, and challenges, and we take the time to get to know the people and families who trust us with their care.
Funding for our programs is provided in part through our contract with the State of Arizona. We are also grateful for the support of generous individuals, local businesses, community partners, churches, and corporate grants that help us continue our mission and expand the services we provide.
Developmental Enrichment Centers is recognized as an Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization, which means eligible donations may qualify for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. Your support helps us continue providing life-changing services while making a lasting difference for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

Our Vision
We are committed to meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of each individual served by Developmental Enrichment Centers through both center and home based services. Recognizing the unique abilities of the members we support, both young and elderly, and the challenges they face, we anticipate an expansion of comprehensive services to include residential services, graduated levels of support for medically fragile individuals, in-house therapy, job skills training, and job placement services.
Our Values
The administration and employees of Developmental Enrichment Centers encourage one another to develop within themselves a core set of values. These values, known as the “fruits of the spirit,” are found in Galatians 5:22 and serve as foundational Christian life principles. Exhibition of these nine attributes is the measure we use to assess all employees.

Under Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (respectively “Title VI” and “Title VII”), the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Developmental Enrichment Centers (DEC) prohibits discrimination in admissions, programs, services, activities, or employment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, and disability. DEC must make a reasonable accommodation to allow a person with a disability to take part in a program, service, or activity. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities. For example, this means that if necessary, DEC must provide sign language interpreters for people who are deaf, a wheelchair accessible location, or enlarged print materials. It also means that DEC will take any other reasonable action that allows you to take part in and understand a program or activity, including making reasonable changes to an activity.
